Conical spring
Categoria: Tipi di molla
A compression spring whose diameter varies along its length, letting the coils “telescope” and reduce the solid height.
Because the larger coils nest around the smaller ones when compressed, a conical spring takes up little space at full stroke and resists buckling better, making it ideal when a low solid height is needed.
The conical profile can also give a progressive spring rate: the spring stiffens as the larger coils come into contact.
