Inner diameter

ID
Category: Dimensions & geometry

The width of the open space inside the spring, measured from the inner edge of one coil to the inner edge of the opposite coil.

It sets the largest pin or rod that fits through the spring. It equals the outer diameter minus two wire diameters (ID = OD − 2d).
